PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF ETHANOL

Disclosed is a process for producing ethanol, which is characterized by comprising the steps of: (A) decomposing a sap containing a cellulose or a material containing the sap by proliferating a bacterium in the sap or the material; and (B) accelerating the production of ethanol by the action of the fermentation with an yeast cell or an enzyme by using the proliferated bacterium as a nutritive component. The raw material is preferably a sap from natural rubber. The yeast cell or the enzyme may be a Koji (rice malt) mold cell.
