The method involves verifying authenticity of each controller of an immobilizer system group based on a challenge-response process. The immobilizer system has another immobilizer system group instead of the immobilizer system group in a period. The latter immobilizer system group is different from the former immobilizer system group. An additional controller is a subscriber of the latter immobilizer system group, and/or the controller of the former immobilizer system group is not the subscriber opposite to the latter immobilizer system group. An independent claim is also included for a system for wireless changing of a functional mode of immobilizer systems of vehicles.
