PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism, with which a line head can be surely cleaned. SOLUTION: This liquid discharging device is equipped with: a liquid supplying source; a conveying passage; a line head, the under surface of the box of which keeps a nozzle plate having a plurality of numbers of nozzle holes standing in a line, the distance between one end and the other end of which is larger than the width of a medium and the guide rails of which are respectively provided at the frontal face and rear face; a specifying means for specifying a region corresponding to some part of a plurality of numbers of the nozzle holes in the nozzle plate; a maintenance means, which is supported by guide shoes sliding along the guide rails and has a hollow part open with an opening area enabling the coverage of some part of a plurality of numbers of the nozzle holes standing in a line; and a traverse motion supporting means for moving the maintenance means to a position under the part of the nozzle holes.
