COMPOSITION COMPRISING ROTIGOTINE, ITS USE AND TRANSDERMAL PATCH COMPRISING THE COMPOSITION

The invention discloses a composition comprising rotigotine and use of it for manufacturing transdermal patch comprising rotigotine. The composition is based on a mixed matrix consisting of acrylic-type pressure sensitive adhesive, siloxane-type pressure sensitive adhesive and polyvinyl pyrrolidone with certain weight ratio, in which (1) acrylic-type pressure sensitive adhesive is present in about 1-25% by the weight of said matrix; (2) siloxane-type pressure sensitive adhesive is present in about 65-98% by the weight of said matrix; (3) polyvinyl pyrrolidone is present in about 1-10% by the weight of said matrix; and rotigotine is about 1-40% by weight based on the weight of the total composition. The invention also discloses a transdermal patch comprising the composition of rotigotine. The patch provides improved good nature of solubility, delivery and initial drug flux of rotigotine.
