The control has a dimmer with a rotary operation unit (6), which is rotated towards right at an angle equal/greater than a defined angle and immediately to the left at an angle equal/greater than a defined angle, for the variation of an arbitrary brightness value to minimum in a switched-on state of a lighting device (14). The operation unit is rotated towards left at an angle equal/greater than a defined angle and immediately to the right at an angle equal/smaller than a defined angle, for the variation of arbitrary brightness value to maximum in the switched-on state of the lighting device.
