<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a heater wire used in a conventional rotary roll consumes high electric power, running cost is increased when heat is always generated, and it is difficult to keep uniform temperature all over a roll surface. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary roll has a heat generating body with an oxide compound of tin (Sn) and lead (Pb) as a main component provided on all or partial periphery surface inside or outside the rotary roll directly or through base material.
