PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal apparatus and its control method to conduct navigation suitably controlling a power consumption even in the case of an out-of-range state. SOLUTION: A controller 8 sets a power saving mode automatically when a navigation function starts and it sets a radio wave off-mode, too, in the case of the out-of-range state. The controller 8 cancels the radio wave off-mode each prescribed time while the navigation function is executed, confirms whether the out-of-range state exists or not, informs an user by an informing portion 3 that an in-range state has been brought in the case of the in-range state, and measures a present position by a GPS portion 2.
