This is an appratus for separating gases or other fluids into heavy and light components via radial counterflow currents. A tank contains an axis, upon which a pair of motorized impeller plates rotate in opposite directions to direct heavy fluids downward and lighter fluids upward. Lighter fluids are pumped out of the tank into the environment. Heavier fluids are pumped out and collected beneath the tank. The impellers notably comprise vanes to more precisely direct the currents. The impellers flare outward relative to the axis of rotation, increasing centrifugal force separating heavy from light components. |
