SPHERICAL CRYSTAL PRODUCTION METHOD AND PRODUCTION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical crystal production method for efficiently producing a spherical crystal with a uniform size and also producing a spherical crystal having high crystallinity.

SOLUTION: The spherical crystal production method is provided for producing the spherical crystal 9 by: heating and melting a raw material for producing the spherical crystal 9 in a melting crucible 1; discharging the flow of melted liquid 8 of the raw material from a hole of a nozzle 12 provided at the bottom part of the crucible 1 while applying prescribed pressure onto the upper face of the melted liquid 8 in the melting crucible; and cooling a discharged melted liquid 81 while dropping it through the inside of a dropping tube 5 thereby solidifying the melted liquid 81, wherein inert gas is intermittently jetted at a fixed period at the inside of the dropping tube 5 below the hole of the nozzle 12, and the discharged melted liquid flow 81 is shredded to be a spherical crystal 9 with a uniform size.
