PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a gel more stable which has phase transition temperature and which is used for immobilizing a living bio-related substance. SOLUTION: An agent which stabilizes the gel used for immobilizing the bio-related substance includes a surface-active agent. The method for stabilizing the gel used for immobilizing the bio-related substance includes a step (1) of adding the stabilizing agent to a solution, containing a monomer which forms the gel having the phase transition temperature, and a step (2) of causing the solution to which the stabilizing agent is added, to gel.
