PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that prints information on a long continuous paper and that performs post processing such as cutting or peeling of the paper after the printing without degrading the issuing/processing performance. SOLUTION: The printer is characterized in that it includes: a printing section 4 that transports continuous paper 61 composed of long backing paper 62 and labels 63 which are tacked in plurality in the longitudinal direction on the surface of the backing paper 62 with prescribed spaces 64 apart, and that performs printing; a cutting section 5 that cuts the continuous paper which has been printed in the printing section 4; and a transfer mechanism that makes the cutting section 5 movable to the upstream and downstream side in the transporting direction of the continuous paper.
