PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection plate for ground cover plant designed so as to highly strengthen a pressure-receiving support part and facilitate propagation of ground cover plants such as lawn. SOLUTION: The protection plate 1 is structured as follows: a number of support parts 7 are set up on a lattice-shaped base plate part 2 along thread parts 3 of the base plate part 2 respectively so as to regularly line up in a standing position; the upper parts of the four support parts 7 adjacent to one another centering respective intercrossing parts 4 of the thread parts 3 of the base plate part 2 are connected to one another via a first connection rib part 8 to form support part joined bodies 9; the lower parts of the support parts of the support part joined bodies 9 adjacent to one another are connected with one another via a second connection rib part 10 formed along the thread parts 3; partitioned chambers 11 partitioned via the second connection rib part 10 are formed at respective net opening parts 5 of the base plate part 2; the height of the second connection rib part 10 is set to be lower than that of the support part 7; and communicating holes 12 through which the four partitioned chambers 11 adjacent to one another via the first connection rib part 8 communicate to one another, are formed each at the lower part of the first connection rib part 8.
