<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat recovery device capable of carrying out control not to recover an excessive heat quantity by a simple constitution, in the exhaust heat recovery device using a loop-type heat pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust heat recovery device having the loop-type heat pipe 101 has an evaporation part 110 for evaporating a working medium sealed therein by the heat of exhaust of an internal combustion engine 10, a condensation part 130 for cooling the working medium vaporized in the evaporation part 110 by cooling the water of the internal combustion engine 10, and a communication part 161 for making the evaporation part 110 communicate with the condensation part 130. The exhaust heat recovery device is provided with a valve mechanism 150 having an operation power source 153 operated according to at least one of working medium pressure, a working medium temperature, and a cooling water temperature, and a valve element 155 formed integrally with the operation power source 153 for opening and closing the communication part 161 in conjunction with the operation power source 153.
