<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain airbag device capable of sufficiently exhibit a decreasing function of a sub expansion chamber for a peak acceleration received by an occupant even when an airbag body is arranged at a position counter to a center pillar in a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag body 1 is composed of a front protective area 3 and a rear protective area 4 communicating with each other through a gas introducing passage 7. In the front protective area 3, a main expansion chamber 3-1 for protecting the occupant is formed in the upper side, and a partition wall part 8 is formed in the airbag body 1 to arrange the sub expansion chamber 3-2 to regulate inner pressure of the main expansion chamber 3-1 in a lower side. An orifice type gas flow restricting passage 9 is formed by separating part of the partition wall part 8 to allow the sub expansion chamber 3-2 and the main expansion chamber 3-1 to communicate with each other through the gas flow restricting passage 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
