PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber amplifier enabling energy excited on an optical fiber to be efficiently collected. SOLUTION: The fiber amplifier comprises: a seed light source emitting seed light; an optical fiber amplifying the seed light and having a core added with rare earth element; an exciting light source exciting the rare earth element; a Faraday rotor; an optical isolator provided with a first polarizer disposed between the seed light source and the Faraday rotor to pass the seed light through and a second polarizer disposed between the Faraday rotor and one end of the optical fiber; a reflective mirror reflecting an amplified light from other end of the optical fiber to enter the amplified light into the other end of the optical fiber; and a polarized beam splitter disposed between the one end of the optical fiber and the seed light source to reflect and output the amplified light from the one end of the optical fiber.
