<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion member having an improved drainage property. <P>SOLUTION: The gas diffusion member has a plurality of rows made of a plurality of penetrated holes which are arranged in parallel along one direction, and diameters of each of the penetrated holes 24 of at least one row out of rows made of the plurality of the penetrated holes along one direction decrease toward the one direction, and diameters of each of the penetrated holes 22 of at least the other row out of rows made of the plurality of the penetrated holes along one direction keep a predetermined diameter.
