PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary storage box system that can be easily unlocked by means of a cellphone and that allows easily obtaining information on the location of a temporary storage box, time-based fee, stock/shipment information, a vacant state and the like and charging the fee of the temporary storage box to the telephone number of the cellphone. SOLUTION: The temporary storage box system has a sending/receiving part with a telephone function; a control part; a normally closed type locking mechanism based on an automatic lock; and a memory that can be read and written as a storage means. When a user of the temporary storage box 2 calls the telephone number of the sending/receiving part using the cellphone 1, the telephone number of the cellphone 1 is transmitted and this cellphone number information is stored in the memory via the sending/receiving part. The control part uses the cellphone number information sent as unlock ID information and controls the locking mechanism to be unlocked according to a box number designated by the user, thus opening the door of the box.
