PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically shift to a communicable state without causing a user to take a great deal of time for reconnecting a cable or to consider a complex specification when it is impossible to communicate by an ordinary procedure in connecting dual role devices (DRDs) to each other in accordance with on-the-go (OTG) standard. SOLUTION: When device A itself does not support device B, it notifies the permission of role exchange between a host and a device to the device B. When the device A receives an affirmative answer from the device B, the devices A and B stop communication with each other, both devices exchange their roles between the host and device according to host negotiation protocol (HNP) to switch the device A and the device B to the device and the host, respectively.
