[PROBLEMS] An airbag device having a flap functioning as an airbag case and having a small volume when compressed. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The airbag device has an airbag (1), an inflator (5), the airbag case (12) for containing the airbag (1) and to which the inflator (5) is attached, and the flap (11) for covering the airbag (1) when the airbag (1) is contained in the airbag case (12). The flap (11) is made of cloth cut into a predetermined shape and is formed as a closed-bottomed tubular body with adjacent side walls (11ba, 11bb) joined to each other and only a ceiling (11c) opened. The opened ceiling (11c) is formed by folding extension sections formed on both the opposite sidewalls (11ba, 11bb). A breaking part (11d), out of which the airbag (1) is pushed when it is expanded, is provided at the extension sections. A fitting hole (11e) for fitting the inflator (5) is provided in a bottom surface (11a). [EFFECT] Preparation of a hole in an installation portion is eliminated, damage to an occupant is reduced, and the airbag device is compact.
