PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar heating element which can be used in a wide temperature range including a comparatively high temperature range of 150°C to 1,000°C, is provided with excellent flexibility and heat insulating structure and is also inexpensive, in the planar heating element for heating an object to be heated with a cylindrical shape, a gooseneck shape or a globular shape. SOLUTION: The planar heating element is provided with a heater in which both sides of a heating element are covered by electrically insulating material and a thin metal plate held through a spacer so that a gap is formed on an outer periphery side of the heater.
