PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the quantity of light to be irradiated to sample cell and improve the detection sensitivity, without causing saturation of ultraviolet range light and a visible range light inside a detector. SOLUTION: A spectrophotometer comprises the sample cell for accommodating the measurement target sample; a visible light source and an ultraviolet source for supplying incident light to the sample; a spectroscope for spectrally separating the light transmitted through the sample; an optical sensor for sensing the spectrally-separated light; a dichroic element for reflecting or transmitting the ultraviolet range light from the ultraviolet light source, and transmitting or reflecting the visible range light from the visible light source; and an optical system for causing the ultraviolet range light and the visible range light, reflected or transmitted through the dichroic element, to enter the sample cell.
