摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of calibrating the parameters for a multi-joint type coordinate measuring apparatus, capable of reducing labor and the time required for calibration working of the parameters of a measuring arm. SOLUTION: The method of calibrating the parameters of the multi-joint type coordinate measuring apparatus includes steps of installing a standard instrument 20A having two small balls 22 in the operation space of the measuring arm 2; measuring each spacial coordinate of the small balls 22 in a plurality of arm attitudes by operating the measuring arm 2 to near a probe 3 to the small balls 22; performing parameter calibration processing concerning primary calibration parameters, based on the measured result; next, installing a standard instrument 20C, having one ball 22 in the operation space of the measuring arm 2; measuring the spatial coordinate of the small ball 22 in the plurality of the arm postures, by making the measuring arm 2 approach the probe 3 approach the small ball 22; and performing the parameter calibration processing concerning secondary calibration parameters based on the measured result.
