PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lumbago preventive and relieving chair, relieving the pain, correcting a person's posture and preventing lumbago when being seated on the chair. SOLUTION: In this chair, the relative angle made between the respective surfaces of a seating surface 1 inclined backward and made shallow and a movable waist pad 2 is always kept at an acute angle using a resilient body such as a return blade 10 provided between a strut 9 and the movable waist pad 2, and when being seated, a person's waist abuts against the movable waist pad 2 without consciousness, so that the angle of inclination of the movable waist pad 2 can be varied in a fixed range by applying force by upper body 's action. Further, when a restrain stopper part 6a of a rear leg 4a abuts on the back of the strut 9, the angle of inclination is minimized, and when a restrain stopper part 6 of a front leg 4 abuts on the back of the seating surface 1, the angle of inclination is made maximum. The inclination of the seating surface 1 can be switched toward the two angles by longitudinal movement while being seated, so that a fixed free zone is provided to make a change of pace and accelerate the circulation of blood.
