PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of suppressing the degradation of a wearing feeling and the occurrence of skin troubles due to remaining liquid even while being capable of supplying a skin care substance with a moisturizing effect to the skin. SOLUTION: For the absorbent article 1, recessed parts 3c of the width 1-10 mm and depth 1-5 mm are provided on the surface of a surface sheet 3; a phosphorylcholine group containing polymer is applied as a moisturizer to bottom parts b inside the recessed parts 3, and the moisturizer is not applied to parts near the upper part of the recessed parts 3 and outside the recessed parts 3c. When the surface sheet 3 is compressed in a thickness direction with compression force at a prescribed level or higher, the recessed parts 3c are crushed and the bottom parts b are pushed up to the skin side. When the compression force applied in the thickness direction of the surface sheet 3 is less than the prescribed level, the bottom parts b of the recessed parts 3c are held at a position far from the skin side.
