CHECKWEIGHT, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BACK-TRACEABILITY OF SUCH WEIGHTS

A checkweight (1) for checking a gravimetric measurement instrument, in particular a balance, or for checking a further weight is provided with an identification. This marking, which is applied to the outside of the checkweight (1), has a permanently applied machine-legible identification code (2), which makes it possible to re-identify the individual weight piece as an individual item. This makes it possible to implement a method for back-tracing of an identifiable checkweight (1). A system for back-traceability of checkweights (1) has one or more readers (6) for detection of the marking, one or more processors (10) in which the machine-legible identification code can be converted back to an identification code which can be processed electronically, and one or more memory units, in particular a database (8), for storage of at least the data contained in the identification code.
