[Also in Division F2] Selective punching apparatus comprises a series of punches 11, Fig. 1, each operable by an osoillatable actuator 13 pivotally connected to the punch and comprising a lever 30 pivotally mounted on a shaft 31 and rotatably supporting an eccentric roller 32 which is arranged to be driven frictionally by two continuouslydriven rollers 34, 35 (or 56, 57), the lever 30 having pivoted thereto a brake pad 62 which normally prevents rotation of the roller 32 but is released when an electromagnet 72, which has its armature 71 operatively connected to the brake pad, is energized. The roller 32 has a V-shaped groove 33, Fig. 3, which is frictionally engageable by spaced resilient flanges 38, 40 on the roller 34 and by a flange 43 on the roller 35. The roller 32 has a disc 42 engageable with a disc 37 on the roller 34. The tape to be punched is fed by a sprocket wheel 25 engaging holes punched in the tape by a punch 12 operable similarly to the punches 11, the sprocket-wheel being advanced intermittently by an actuator 88, Fig. 2, similar to the actuators 13. |
