<p>The device (1) has a melt container (3) for melting a material, a drop production generator (11) for forming drops from the melted material, a down pipe (16) and a cooling unit. The drop production generator is arranged at the upper end of the down pipe. A medium bath is provided, which is filled with a cryogenic liquid, arranged at the lower end of the down pipe such that the drops fall into the medium bath. The drops fall down from the drop production generator. A conveyer device is also provided for discharging the solidifying drops from the medium bath. An INDEPEDNENT CLAIM is also included for a method for granulating melted material.</p> |
