A measurement system for measuring the size and coordinates of a structure by using a portable terminal is provided to reduce the cost and man power required for the measurement. A portable terminal(10) comprises a photographing unit(11), a focal distance calculating unit(12), a position measuring unit(13), an angle measuring unit(14), a distance measuring unit(15) a data transmitting unit(16). The photographing unit takes the picture of a structure to obtain a structure image. The focal distance calculating unit calculates the focal distance of the photographing unit, namely, the distance from a lens of the photographing unit to an image sensor. The position measuring unit detects the photographing position of the photographing unit. The angle measuring unit detects the photographing angle of the photographing unit. The distance measuring unit measures the distance from the photographing unit to the structure. The data transmitting unit transmits data obtained from the portable terminal or data stored in the terminal to a measurement server(20). The measurement server comprises a data receiving unit(21), an image processing unit(22), a coordinate calculating unit(23) and a size calculating unit(24). The image processing unit extracts an edge from the structure image which the portable terminal provides, and then detects the length of the extracted edge. The coordinate calculating unit calculates the coordinates of the structure from the data provided from the terminal. The size calculating unit calculates the size of the structure based on the output data of the image processing unit and the data provided from the terminal.
