发明名称 Reversing gear transmission mechanism
摘要 967,799. Reverse gear; control; lubricating; casings. BORG-WARNER CORPORATION. Aug. 21, 1961 [Aug. 29, 1960], No. 30134/61. Heading F2D. To reduce or eliminate pump cavitation due to foaming in an hydraulically controlled marine, forward-neutral-reverse, epicyclic gear, the sump 20b is inclined upwardly from front to back at approximately 18 degrees to the gear axis thereby reducing fluid level by providing a horizontal-bottomed sump when the gear is mounted in its operating position, a unitary resilient steel sheet baffle plate 19 is snapped into position in the housing 20 to provide a part-cylindrical gear compartment separated from the sump, and returned fluid is connected directly to the pump intake 48 by a screened, tubular member 54 passing through the sump. The forward-neutral-reverse epicyclic gear comprises interengaging planets 24, 23 on an output carrier and respectively meshing an input sun 22 and a ring 21 which may be friction clutched at 14 to the sun for locked-up forward drive or friction braked at 16 for reverse drive at the same speed as forward. The clutch 14 is multiplate and is actuated by an hydraulic servomotor 15 acting through a Belleville washer lever 35 and the brake 16 is actuated directly by an hydraulic servomotor 17. The control system comprises an input gear pump 18 delivering to a combined distributer and pressure regulator valve 50, and a cooler 52. The valve 50 comprises a rotary member 56 having a bore 58 which receives fluid from the pump through an annulus 63 and radial bores 64, selectively actuates and exhausts the forward and reverse servomotors, and, when the pressure reaches a predetermined level to axially move a spring-loaded piston 61, allows fluid flow to the cooler and a gear and bearing lubrication line 66 through ports 67 and 65 in communication therewith in all shift positions of the valve. The tubular member 54, comprising a hollow tube 69 and a cylindrical screen 70 fixed thereto, prevents cavitation in the pump due to entry of foam or air during high-speed turns. The baffle 19 is formed with a radius larger than the housing 20 in order that it may be snapped into position and held by housing bosses engaging rectangular holes therein. The sump slope permits the engine and gear to be installed lower and further to the rear.
