The device has a pressing tool moved from a rest position against force of a return spring into an operating position by pressure in a piston cylinder unit containing a hydraulic medium. The pressing tool is moved back into the rest position under the effect of the spring based on activation of a return valve (9) for the hydraulic medium. The return valve is coupled with a shaft in such a manner that the activation of the return valve takes place by a rotation of the shaft against its drive direction for operating a conveying unit for the pressure medium.
