An image processing apparatus (102A) processes a still image file which includes attribute information following a format of still image file and a moving image file which includes attribute information following a format of moving image file. The processing involves acquiring a representative image data from the moving image file, the representative image data being still image data; acquiring attribute information following a format of moving image file included in the moving image file; and embedding the acquired attribute information in the acquired representative image data.
