PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule composition for an electrophoretic display device including microcapsules which, when used for the electrophoretic display device, excel in various performances, such as long-term stability of display, display responsiveness, contrast, and the number of rewritable times of the display like heretofore, and more particularly which can exhibit the extremely high performance relating to the contrast, a method for manufacturing the microcapsule composition for the electrophoretic display device, a method for manufacturing a sheet for the electrophoretic display device, and a method for handling the microcapsule for the electrophoretic display device. SOLUTION: The composition includes the microcapsules for the electrophoretic display device prepared by including a dispersion dispersed with electrophoretic particulate in a solvent into shells, and an aqueous medium and is used for preparation of a coating liquid. The composition is obtained without undergoing a step of drying the microcapsule and is characterized in that the content of the microcapsules in the composition is 30 to 80wt%.
