The invention relates to a mounting bracket 3 for a temporary knockdown handrail system 1 erected around a perimeter of a building. The mounting bracket 3 comprises means to secure the bracket to a top edge of a panel 2 at the perimeter of the building, wherein the mounting bracket 3 further comprises a depending fixing rod 11 having a removable sleeve 16 surrounding substantially all of the fixing rod 11. The sleeve 16 is abutted, in-use to an inner face of the panel 2 such that the mounting bracket 3 fits in a semi-fast manner over the top edge 6 of the panel 2, allowing subsequent retraction of the mounting bracket 3, when a concrete floor has been poured and the sleeve 16 is embedded in the concrete. The mounting brackets 3 of the handrail system are simple and efficient to install and then remove, as the present invention does not require the use of bolts for the mounting brackets 3 to be secured to a panel 2. |
