A battery is provided to improve cycleability in the case of making the thickness of a negative active material layer thick and imparting high capacity, and to improve the intercalation efficiency of an electrode reaction material in charging while suppressing the analysis of electrolyte at the same time. A battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and electrolyte. The negative electrode has a negative active material layer on a negative collector. The negative active material layer includes a carbon material and has the thickness more than 30 micron. The electrolyte comprises solvent and electrolyte salt. The solvent contains at least one of sulfone compounds expressed as the chemical formula 1 and the chemical formula 2. In the chemical formula 1, R1 shows C_mH_(2m-n)X_n and X shows a halogen, wherein m is an integer of 2-4, and n is an integer of 0-2m. In the chemical formula 2, R2 shows C_jH_(2j-k)X_k and X shows the halogen, wherein j is an integer of 2-4 and k is an integer of 0-2j. |
