摘要 A method for driving liquid crystal display is provided to increase dimensions of pixel electrode by superposing pixel electrode and signal line. A common electrode is formed on a top substrate(200). A pixel electrode is formed on a bottom substrate facing the top substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the top substrate and the bottom substrate. The top substrate includes a transparent insulation substrate(210), a black matrix(220), and a common electrode(240). The black matrix is formed on the transparent insulation substrate. The common electrode is formed on the black matrix. The black matrix blocks a leak of a light between adjacent pixel regions. An over coat layer(230) is formed between the black matrix and the common electrode, and is formed in order to improve cohesive property and flatness property of interface. The bottom substrate includes a transparent insulation substrate, a plurality of gate lines, and a plurality of data lines.
