A device for feeding containers of vapour generators of toy locomotives with a vapourproducing liquid, comprises a stand, a liquid container connected to the stand and a pump adapted to feed the liquid to an elevated outlet. The device comprises a feed column 1 through which the liquid is forced from a container 2 to an outlet la by exerting finger pressure on the upper end of a piston 11, depressing a rubber membrane 12 against a stop 5. The lower end of the feed column has a spring-urged ball valve 6 and the outlet la has a spring-urged valve head 16. The container has a relief valve 4 for restoring pressure inside the container and a filling cap 15 and opening. In another embodiment, a liquid containing piston casing 18, Fig. 3, is rotated on a stand by the pressure of a locomotive acting on a projecting stop 22. A fixed cam on the pivot shaft of the casing acts on a spring-urged piston to force liquid to the outlet nozzle. If the supply is not required, an electromagnet comprising armature 20 and coil 21 linked with the pivot shaft is operated to rotate the stop 22 out of the path of the locomotive. In a further embodiment, an electromagnet comprising a coil 35 and armature 36, Fig. 6, is operated to lower a casing 30 relatively to a piston 31 resting on top of the funnel and to force the liquid in the casing down a narrow passage 37 to the funnel. A spring 34 within the casing urges the piston downwardly and a membrane ring 44 retains the piston in the casing. |
