Sloping surfaces 17a and 18a at the front ends of forwardly-extending pairs of intermediate abutments 17 and 18 of connector 1 are provided to guide the rear edge of circuit board 2, which may be warped, so that socket contacts 9 properly engage with plug contacts 10. The connector has longitudinally grooved arms 13 for receiving the side edges of the board. More than one pair of abutments may be used and a large board may co-operate with two connectors stacked vertically or side by side.
