The component has two positive temperature co-efficient (PTC) resistor units arranged in a carrier plate of a housing, where each of the resistor units has a base body (15) and electrodes (16, 17), which are arranged at its main surface. Each of the resistor units has an electrically insulated casing (6). Connecting leads (41, 42) are soldered at a soldering point (5) at each electrode of the respective resistor unit, and the casing covers the soldering point. The thickness of the casing at the main surfaces and in areas of edges of the base body is homogenous. |
