A METHOD OF ESTABLISHING FAST SECURITY ASSOCIATION FOR HANDOVER BETWEEN HETEROGENEOUS RADIO ACCESS NETWORKS

A method for quickly establishing a security link in the handover between heterogeneous networks is provided to allow the access between different wireless connection technologies, enable a user to receive a service without disconnection, and prevent big load from being applied to a system network. A multi-mode mobile terminal connects to the IEEE 802.16 network, and then performs processes of sharing a master session key and an AK(Authorization key) through the EAP-based authentication method and sharing a TEK through the 3-Way handshaking method(S501-S505). The mobile terminal requests and obtains information about adjacent heterogeneous networks by using an MIH_Information Request message(S506). An MIH entity of the mobile terminal requests an MIH entity of an IEEE 802.16 net authentication server to transmits authentication-related information of the mobile terminal to an MIH entity of a 3GPP net authentication server through an MIH_Auth_Info_transfer Request message(S507). An MIH entity of a serving authentication server can request security contexts of the target network as an authentication server of the target network by using an MIH_Security_Context_Transfer Request message(S508).
