A plasma display panel is provided to improve the brightness saturation property and satisfy the breakdown voltage in a drive mode by limiting the thickness range of a first dielectric layer. A front substrate(20) is arranged with the constant distance from a backplane substrate(10). Colored discharge cells(18R,18G,18B) formed by barrier ribs(16,16a,16b) in a space between the both substrates are formed. A sustain electrode(25) is formed along the cross direction of the first side of the front substrate which faces with the backplane substrate in order to correspond to each electric discharge cell. The sustain electrode is comprised of an X electrode(21) and a Y electrode(23) and includes a bus electrode(50) preventing the voltage drop of the sustain electrode.
