<p>The light emitting enamel layer (5) comprises a transparent enamel and a light emitting pigment. A visual communication panel (1) comprises a substrate (2-4) made from enamelled steel, on top of which is a light emitting enamel layer comprising a transparent enamel and 1-70 wt.% light emitting pigment, which in turn is covered by an enamel top layer (6). An independent claim is also included for a method for making the panel, comprising the following steps: (a) mixing 100 parts by weight transparent enamel powder with 25-75 parts by weight liquid screen printing medium; (b) mixing 60 parts by weight light emitting pigment with 15-25 parts by weight liquid screen printing medium; (c) mixing 150 parts by weight of the mixture from step (a) with 60-100 parts by weight of the mixture from step (b); (d) applying the resulting paste to a substrate optionally provided with a base layer and/or colored layer, using a coarse screen (10-77 T) to form a layer with a thickness of 10-400 microns; (e) firing the applied pigmented enamel layer for 1.5-3 minutes at 600-950[deg] C; (f) repeating step (a); (g) applying the mixture from step (f) onto a light emitting enamel layer provided on top of a substrate, using a fine screen (50-150 T) to form a layer with a thickness of 5-20 microns; and (h) repeating step (e).</p> |
