A shock absorption device and a seat for ship are provided to absorb impact by the shaking of ship running at high speed and waves effectively through FRP spring and shock absorber. A seat is made of FRP, comprising a U-shaped outside plate(1) and a cushion(2) made of foam and fabric. A seat support(3) is made of FRP leaf spring in a curved shape in order not to be broken even while the ship is severely shaking. The seat support comprises a seat part to which the seat is attached and a bottom part having holes(7) in order to be fixed on the ship deck by bolt and nut. A shock absorber is installed between the seat part and the bottom part of the seat support by a hinge(6).
