A method for harvesting sugar beet includes dividing a field into shreds with the optimum number of rows in the shred of 240, cutting the tops, digging tuberous roots, cleaning and loading into a means of transport or placing into a field piles (a swath) taking out all the harvested tuberous roots in the course of a day to beet collecting points or storage points. After cutting the tops prior to digging the tuberous roots out in the conditions of increased density and solidity of soil undermining of the tuberous roots is carried out by digging blades. The distance from the axial line of a row to the moving lines of the digging blade in a row spacing and the depth of the stroke of the digging blade (the depth digging of tuberous roots) in the area of the row is determined depending on the width of row spacings according to the formula. |
