A radiation sensitive composition for forming a colored layer, a color filter formed by using the composition, a colored LCD device containing the color filter, and a compound used in the composition are provided to improve the solubility in a cleaning solvent even after drying and to form a coating having a high solubility in an alkali developer.. A radiation sensitive composition comprises a colorant; an alkali-soluble resin which is a copolymer of one selected from an unsaturated carboxylic acid, its anhydride and an unsaturated phenol compound, an N-substituted maleimide, and an unsaturated compound represented by the formula 1; a multifunctional monomer; and a photopolymerization initiator, wherein R1 is H or a methyl group; R2 is a C2-C4 alkylene group; R3 is H, a C1-C20 alkyl group or a C7-C20 aralkyl group; and n is an integer of 1-10. |
