The interfacing method and apparatus of a mobile terminal is provided to perform conversion into a hands free mode when a call is received while the music is being reproduced. A modem unit(203) uses a transmitting/receiving module based on the CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)/GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) to modulate/demodulate transmitted/received signals. A video output unit(217) displays information of a portable phone and music-related video information on an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display). A storage medium(215) is comprised of an HDD or flash memory to store a multimedia file encoded by a predetermined format. A decoder(207) decodes the multimedia file, selected from the storage medium by a controller(205), based on a predetermined restoration algorithm. An input-output switching part(209) switches data input/output according to a switching control signal of the controller.
