METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ALLOCATING OF NETWORK RESOURCE IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A network resource allocation method and an apparatus thereof are provided to maximize the efficiency of system resources by changing the bandwidth resource allocation algorithm between an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node) and a GGSN(Gateway GPRS Support Node) into the actual traffic resource allocation algorithm. An SGSN/GGSN receives a session resource allocation request(400), adds up the total traffic for a certain time with respect to traffic flowing in a GTP-U of each PH(405), and calculates the bandwidth per second by dividing the user traffic for the certain time by the amount of used bits per second(410). And then, the SGSN/GGSN determines whether to allocate resources by using the calculated result(415), and performs the resource allocation and call admission or call rejection depending on whether extra bandwidth allocation is possible(420,425,430).
