A display system includes a liquid crystal display device (10), which is provided with a backlight (3), a liquid crystal panel (1) for display, and a view angle control panel (2) for controlling the view angle of the liquid crystal panel (1). The reflection quantity of external light in the liquid crystal display device (10) is permitted to be relatively larger than the quantity of light leaking from the backlight (3) in the liquid crystal panel (1) for display. Thus, the display system having improved shielding effects is provided.
