An explosion-proof surface thermometer is provided to measure reliably the surface temperature using a probe contacting with the surface to be measured. An explosion-proof surface thermometer comprises an electrical connection unit(61) arranged inside an enclosure(4); and a temperature probe(11) which is movable guided inside a bore(22) opened toward the enclosure, forced elastically against a measuring point in advance. The gap of diameters between the temperature probe and the inner wall of the bore represents a flame preventive gap depending on the length of the bore.
