An intelligent evacuation apparatus using a sensor network and mobile terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable people to be quickly evacuated from the danger zone. A sensor network(200) is placed in a building or predetermined area to detect a location where a disaster occurs. A disaster coping system(300) comprises a disaster spreading information database calculated in advance according to the disaster-originated location based on the architectural structure and the area, and determines the evacuation strategy to emergency exits according to the database to transmit an evacuation instructing message to the mobile terminal within the building or area. A communication network(400) transmits the evacuation instructing message transmitted from the disaster coping system to the mobile terminal.
