A liquid crystal aligning agent is provided to ensure excellent printability in applying an ink jet spread method and to improve production yield in a manufacturing process by a large size line. A liquid crystal aligning agent contains polymer and solvent. The polymer is at least one selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid obtained through the reaction of tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and diamine compound, and polyimide obtained by dehydrating the polyamic acid. The solvent the first solvent, the second solvent and the third solvent. The first solvent includes a compound indicated as the following chemical formula (I), wherein R is independently C3-10 alkyl group. The second solvent comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of N-methypyrrolidone, gamma - butyrolactone, 1,3- dimethyl -2- imidazolidinone, N,N- dimethylformamide and N,N- dimethylacetamide. The third solvent comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of butyl cellosolve, diacetone alcohol, propylene carbonate, diethylene glycol diethyl ether and ethyl-3-ethoxypropionate.
